Laevatain is one of the strongest damage dealers in Arknights Endfield at launch. She puts up insane numbers in both single-target and AoE scenarios, making her a top pick for story progression and endgame content alike.
Her kit centers on building Melting Flame stacks, then unleashing massive damage through Enhanced Battle Skill and her 15-second Ultimate window called Twilight.
This guide covers skills, optimal builds, team compositions, and rotation tips. If you're comparing Laevatain to other operators, this article slots directly into our Arknights Endfield Tier List.

Basic Information
Attributes (Level 90)
Skills
- Up to 5 attack sequences dealing Heat DMG
- Final Strike deals 18 Stagger when Laevatain is the controlled operator
- Mid-air attacks become Dive Attacks dealing Heat DMG in an area
- Attacking a Staggered enemy triggers a Finisher dealing massive Heat DMG and restoring SP
- Summons a Magma Fragment to continuously attack enemies and deal Heat DMG
- Hitting the enemy grants 1 stack of Melting Flame
- At 4 stacks: consumes all, performs massive additional Heat attack, forcibly triggers Combustion in a large area
- Additional attack restores 100+ Ultimate Energy on hit
Trigger: When an enemy suffers Combustion or Corrosion
- Fire erupts beneath affected enemies, dealing Heat DMG
- Grants 1 Melting Flame stack on hit
- Gains 25-35 Ultimate Energy per enemy hit
- Summons Sviga Lævi and becomes the controlled operator for 15 seconds
- Basic attacks are enhanced into sweeping AoE attacks
- Enhanced Basic 3 applies Heat Infliction
Talents
After any controlled operator's Final Strike or Finisher hits, Laevatain absorbs Heat Infliction from nearby enemies. Each absorbed stack grants 1 Melting Flame (max 4). At 4 stacks, her damage ignores 10/15/20 Heat Resistance for 20s. Also absorbs Heat Infliction from defeated enemies.
When HP drops below 40%, gains 90% Protection and restores 5% Max HP per second. Lasts 4s at Promotion II, 8s at Promotion III. 120s cooldown.
Each Promotion grants Intellect: +10 (I) → +15 (II) → +15 (III) → +20 (IV). Total: +60 Intellect at max promotion.

Character Analysis
Laevatain's entire kit revolves around building toward burst windows. Her Ultimate costs 300 energy - roughly 3 to 4 times what other operators need - and everything outside of Twilight exists to charge that bar faster. But her Enhanced Battle Skill at 4 Melting Flame stacks is also a massive damage source, dealing huge AoE Heat damage while generating 100+ energy.
The engine that makes this work is Melting Flame. Whenever any controlled operator lands a Final Strike or Finisher near enemies with Heat Infliction, Laevatain absorbs those stacks. At 4 stacks, her Battle Skill transforms into a nuke that forcibly triggers Combustion and refills her energy bar.
Seethe ties the rotation together. It triggers on Combustion or Corrosion, grants another Melting Flame stack, and adds 25-35 energy per enemy hit. Teams that can apply these statuses frequently keep Seethe cycling constantly.
Energy Management
Laevatain's Ultimate Energy regeneration determines what Gear Sets you can use. Understanding energy breakpoints helps decide whether you can sacrifice Ultimate Gain % for more damage.
Energy generation varies with enemy count, team skill usage, and rotation length. Against single enemies, you may need Ultimate Gain gear. Against groups, bonus energy makes it less necessary.
| Ability | Uses | Energy |
|---|---|---|
| Enhanced Battle Skill | 2 | 213 |
| Combo Skill | 2 | 50 |
| Team Battle Skills | 4 | 26 |
| Total | - | 289 |
| With 12.3% Ultimate Gain | - | 324.5 |
Without Ultimate Gain, a standard rotation generates 289 energy - just short of 300. With 12.3% Ultimate Gain from gear, you hit 324.5 energy and reach Twilight in 2 rotation cycles. This is why Tide Fall Light Armor is recommended for most players.
Optimizations
Normally Laevatain fits 4 enhanced Basic Attack sequences during Twilight. By dodge-canceling after the first hit of Basic 2 and after Final Strike, you can squeeze in 5 full sequences. Be careful not to cancel Final Strike too early or you won't absorb Heat Infliction stacks.
Verdict: Laevatain excels in both AoE and single-target, putting up insane numbers that make her a top pick for progression and endgame alike. Keep her fed with Heat Infliction, time her burst windows around available targets, and she deletes whatever's in front of her.

Laevatain Teams
Laevatain teams are built around one goal: keep her fed with Melting Flame stacks and Ultimate Energy so burst windows stay online as often as possible. Every teammate either applies Heat Infliction for her to absorb, triggers Combustion/Corrosion for Seethe, or provides SP and damage buffs.
Main Team - Universal Picks
This is the standard setup that works for dailies, story content, farming, and most endgame scenarios. Provides consistent Heat application, excellent healing, and smooth rotation cycles. If you're unsure what to run, use this.
Opening Rotation (Pre-Charged Ults)
Based on optimized rotations, here's the sequence for this team:
After this opening, continue with normal attacks while applying Heat until Twilight ends. Then use Ardelia's Battle Skill and Combo Skill.
Sp Farm / Ult Recharge Rotation
Use Laevatain Normal Attacks and weave in Akekuri Battle Skill into Wulfgard Combo Skill to apply Heat.
Rotation Tips
When prioritizing Battle Skills outside of Twilight, the order is Laevatain > Akekuri > Wulfgard (if Wulfgard's Combo Skill is on cooldown). Each Heat absorbed equals 1 Melting Flame stack.
Laevatain's Battle Skill instantly grants a Melting Flame stack while dealing damage and regenerating Ultimate energy. Her Combo Skill (Seethe) is equally valuable for quick stacks.
When Ardelia's Combo Skill is on cooldown, use Wulfgard's Ultimate to grab more Melting Flame stacks.
Seethe animation can be canceled by dodging or using Ultimate, but don't cancel too fast or the stack won't register.
Coordinate Wulfgard's Combo Skill timing with Akekuri's Battle Skill to apply 2 Heat stacks at once.
Rotations are flexible - adapt to enemy count, cooldowns, and SP availability.
During Twilight
Ensure Ardelia's Susceptibility and Akekuri's Link are active before using Ultimate.
Don't overcap SP. Use Wulfgard Battle Skill to dump SP and build more Heat Infliction, but save 100 SP for Laevatain's own Battle Skill.
At 4 Melting Flame stacks, use Enhanced Battle Skill for massive damage. Use Combo Skill when available too. Both abilities pause the Twilight timer.
Save 4 stacks as Twilight ends to immediately cast Enhanced Battle Skill afterward - this recovers 100+ energy instantly and compresses your next rotation cycle.
Flex Slot Options
The core duo (Laevatain + Wulfgard) handle damage output and Heat generation. The flex slot alternatives below can replace Ardelia or Akekuri depending on content:
Don't Want to Level and Promote Laevatain Yourself?
Laevatain scales hard with Promotions and Gear with high requirements for Ultimate Gain Efficiency.
Building her alongside multiple operators can slow progression significantly.
